RheinKirmes, Düsseldorf

RheinKirmes is the one of the largest fairs in Germany, situated along the left bank of the Rhine river and a mere two hour road trip from home. Sign us, up. The fair is vast in size and home to countless stops to eat ranging from booths to Biergartens, which added to the charm of the fair. Rides are for the thrill seekers and trust me, they are plenty. Arriving on foot is preferred (crossing the Rhine should not be missed, the nearby neighborhood is vibrant and bursting with energy. Fret not, there is a dedicated fair taxi stop steps from the entrance making our trip back to the hotel a breeze at the end of the day.

While our hotel was lacking in AC and did not have adjoining rooms, strolling along Konigsalle (shout out to the Apple Store who made replacing my phone a breeze), Rheinufer Promenade and watching the boys set up camp at the Hofgarten Kaiserpark spielplatz (we all loved it so much we paid it a visit each day!) with glee softened the blow.

Favorite Eats, hands down were found in Little Tokyo. Takumi was worth the hour-long wait in line for one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve ever had. Burger lovers, What’s Beef was a fast casual option the whole family enjoyed.
