Hi!
I'm Marcia (pronounced "mar-see-uh"), a Saint Louis native who thoroughly enjoys the pleasures of receiving snail mail, hitting the snooze button and trying to convince Mark compromise is overrated and that budgets give her hives.
This blog began in 2010 as a fitness journal to hold myself accountable utilizing Tracy Anderson’s 30 Day Method.
Since then, this space has morphed into a place where I wax poetic about the beautiful, ordinary, and sometimes chaotic moments in life - and everything in between.
Meet Mark
Gardener. News junkie. Rational thinker.
Enjoys NPR, nachos, convincing Marcia that Pitbull radio at is not the answer (it is) and that budgets are the spice of life (they aren't).
We met, online, circa 2012.
Six months later, we adopted two hound retriever puppies, Miles and Rubin.
One year in, Marcia moved into Mark's home.
Just shy of our second anniversary, Mark proposed.
After a whirlwind five-month engagement we were married days after a snow storm. Outside.
We honeymooned in Quebec, where we ate/drank ourselves silly, and learned Marcia would not go on to become a champion skier, dashing any dreams Mark had of gliding downhill side-by-side.
Owen Desmond was born March 2016.
Asher Grey was born May 2018.
In March 2020 we embarked on our current adventure - we moved to Germany!
