Summer 2020

Memories of Summer:

Mark was gifted a projector for Father’s Day, setting in motion many a movie nights huddled around the screen (and our trusty portable AC!).

Finding our local pool in the (shaded!) kids area.

(barely) Survived our first Summer sans central ac. Shout out to our new ice maker, the real MVP of a sweltering European summer.

Day trip to Heidelberg

1st day of home education!

Our road trip to Amsterdam + Haarlem

Mark begins going into the office full-time on 8/4

A “quick” trip to Rudesheim + Ramstein that yielded and American dinner (Macaroni Grill!) and being stuck in our first German traffic jam (or “stau”) for TWO hours.

Summer hairstyle: low pigtail buns.

Our trip to Hamburg +Lubeck

Visit to the Palmengarten. Albeit on one of the hottest days of the year so, we need a do-over to fully enjoy its beauty.

Our new dining table (finally!) arrived. And, after at least two hours and a kind new neighbor, it was carried inside. We celebrated with spaghetti for dinner.

Getting more confident shopping at the local grocery stores and the hard truth that kid carts cause far more meltdowns and toddler fights than they are worth in cuteness.

Joined a play-date group, meeting new friends and exploring our new city. Fasanerie! Playgrounds! Corn Maze! RambaZamba!

Celebrated my birthday with dinner in our village, eating the best chicken nuggets I’ve ever had and baking a chocolate cake with the boys.

Mark and I began another round of W30, after the startling realizations calories do count, no matter what your zip code..
