Strasbourg + Colmar

Stay: Our Airbnb though cozy in space had a hammock nestled into the second floor where the boys took up residence during our stay, lending us the perfect home base for our stay.

Eat:

(Strasbourg)

Kammerzell House - traditional Alsatian inside a half timbered building oozing with Renaissance charm. Mark had the Backeoffe, an Alsatian casserole that looked like a warm hug.

L'atelier 116 (Bakery; Grand'Rue) - nothing motivates me like a pastry, and this place was the perfect distance from our airbnb affording me not only a few moments solo, but the views while running past the Barrage Vauban were nothing short of idyllic. Tarte aux poires (pear tart) is not to be missed.

La Cantina - this restaurant choice was no less than a thirty minute walk each way plus a 20 minute wait until they opened because I couldn’t nail a reservation beforehand. The argument we got into over this choice I do not regret because, the Truffle pasta special was incredible.

Le Mains Dan LaFarine (bakery) - I’m passing this recommendation onto you - GET the almond croissant.

Jeff de Bruges - there are few locations spread about the city so they aren’t too difficult to find. We loved our treats so much we returned the next day and bought their advent calendars which were - superb.

Public House - stopped here on a whim after our visit to Le Vaisseau for burgers.

Ramen Shop - crazy delicious ramen. Tip: the space is cozy, opt for take away, and be sure to call ahead - the wait can be lengthy.

(Colmar)

Alsako - is there anything more idyllic than dining on Tarte Flammbe steps from Little Venice? Nope.

Tip: Colmar is a extremely popular destination with cozy restaurants that fill quickly. Reservations are a must.
