We all had a doozy of a time sourcing Alsion Roman's cookbook, "Nothing Fancy", so we made the game-time decision to include all her work, and let me tell you, we had a FEAST.
This gathering was the final party we hosted at 4237. To do so surrounded by friends and dotted with shrieks of children's laughter was more than we could have ever hoped for.
Menu:
garlicky beet dip with walnuts
kimchi braised pork with sesame & egg yolk
crispy chocolate cake with hazelnut and sour cream
salted butter and chocolate chunk shortbread
poached cod w/ tomato and saffron
carrot tart w/ ricotta and herbs
better garlic bread
low and slow rib roast
baked potato bar (w/ caviar!)
