What's All The Fuss About?

Right around the time Owen came along Blue Apron was everywhere. I had to know what all the hype was about because FOMO (on food) is real. Thankfully, my friend Angie gifted us some meals so before I could broach the topic yet again with Mark (I shamelessly added it to our baby shower registry) I'd already created an account. Since "Free" is one of his top three favorite words, he finally agreed to give it a shot.

Pros: Everything you need for three dinners arrives conveniently on your doorstep.

Cons: You still have to grocery shop (for all other meals and snacks) and more times than not there are no leftovers for lunch the next day.

Basque Style Cod with Sweet Pepper Tomato Sauce and Freekeh

Flavorful, light, and so yummy.

Would definitely eat again.

Pork Chops with Spicy Chow Chow with Sweet Potato Salad

Tasty, though a bit of a miss.

Would not eat again.

Seared Chicken and Caramelized Vegetables with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes and Mashed Potatoes

Great flavor combinations. A bit labor intensive for essentially "chicken and mashed potatoes"

Would eat again.

Brown Butter and Thyme Gnocchi with Maitake Mushrooms, Corn and Swiss Chard

I have no idea how difficult this was to prepare because I was wrangling the cute kid in the photo above, but it was freaking phenomenal. Tasted exactly like Spring, cloud like gnocchi, sweet corn and sauteed chard.

Can't wait to eat again.

Have you ever tried meal delivery? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
