Stay At Home Diaries: Independence Day

See this content in the original post

We celebrated Independence Day at home with a day sprinkled with fun. Mark BBQ'd, the boys helped prepare pound cake for our parfaits, O practiced his (plastic) knife skills slicing strawberries, and played outside on the patio. After dinner we set of (cake) sparklers and confetti poppers.

The base held a (socially distant) fireworks display which we were all game for until we realized it didn't even begin until 10:30 PM (when it grows dark). Nope.

Menu:

Grilled Squash Ribbons & Prosciutto with Mint Dressing

Chicken Skewers (can't locate the recipe, but they were marinated in soy/honey)

Grilled Halloumi

Corn on the Cob

Berry Shortcake Parfaits

Palomas

Happy (belated!) Birthday, America!
